The MK Sankofa Project

Back to our roots. A food heritage project.

Sankofa is an Akan idea: go back and fetch what is at risk of being left behind. That is the heart of this project. Across all sixteen regions, Chef Maamle works with indigenous communities to find the dishes that are quietly disappearing: the recipes held by grandmothers, the techniques that were never written down, and brings them back to the table.

“When we lose our food, we lose a piece of who we are.”

One table

Come taste all sixteen.
