How it started

From a side hustle to a multi-award brand.

She never set out to cook for a living. With a degree in accounting, she found her gift cooking for colleagues during national service, and the referrals never stopped. What began as a side hustle is now a multi-award-winning culinary brand.

That little business hits different when you build it all from scratch.

In Chef Maamle’s own words

Her philosophy

Chef Maamle is more than a chef. She’s a cultural ambassador.

  • She uses gastronomy to promote Ghana’s cultural heritage.

  • She bridges food with culture, identity, tourism, and impact.

  • She bridges the elders’ recipes with the next generation’s curiosity.

The mission · MK Sankofa Project

Reviving Ghana’s hidden dishes.

Through the MK Sankofa Project, Chef Maamle works with indigenous communities across all sixteen regions to bring forgotten dishes back to the table, pairing food with culture, tourism, and the next generation’s curiosity. It is the heart of the MK Pop-Up Buffet: forty-plus dishes, sixteen regions, one table.

Her creed

“When we lose our food, we lose a piece of who we are. I cook so that never happens.
